Touchwood is a family business , which began trading in 1988 in the North East of Scotland.  We began by restoring pine furniture and retailing from Aberdeen.  Realising the demand for good quality solid wood furniture, we expanded our range to include reproduction furniture.  In 2004 we relocated to much larger premises (3800 sqft) in the Royal Burgh of Inverbervie (A92 coast road between Montrose & Stonehaven),  south of Aberdeen.

Interesting and unique range of old stripped pine furniture, comes from Scotland and Eastern Europe.  Great pride is taken to restore each individual piece with a long lasting, durable finish, bringing out the natural beauty of the wood.

New Pine

Reproduction pine furniture is built from top grade Scandanavian pine.  The drawers are dovetailed and have a solid base for strength.  Our standard finish is a medium antique pine but can be specified by customer.  This range is available in the bare wood at a discount price should you choose to polish or paint it yourself.

Oak Range
Our reproduction oak range is in a class of its own, with its traditional designs and intricate carvings.  This range is available in the bare wood at a discount price should you choose to polish it yourself. Many people are under the impression that quality hand crafted oak furniture is a luxury only the affluent may enjoy.


We have a commitment to quality and no corners have been cut in the reproduction of fine 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th Century pieces. Although as many traditional methods as possible are used, we also ensure our products can withstand modern day living conditions, as the furniture looks just as remarkable as any original, whether it is situated in an 18th Century mansion or a modern penthouse apartment.

All the oak timber is kiln dried to keep moisture content down to a minimum: Although highly labour intensive, all turnings and detailed carvings are meticulously and painstakingly worked by hand by many highly skilled craftspeople, allowing us to ensure the originality of each piece.

Naturally, protection of the environment is an important issue for all of us. All our products come from many different suppliers . Wherever possible we deal direct with craftsmen and women who use materials from renewable sources and fashion them with regard for the environment. The craftspeople we deal with are masters in their respective arts and we ensure that all monies go direct to them, their families and their employees and not to fat cat conglomerates. In some cases profits go towards improving the environment of these people, such as schooling for their children.

No Children are employed in any of our suppliers workshops.
